On My Path Today...

🌿 When Ordinary Work Becomes Sacred Work

Yesterday, which was Wednesday, has quietly become my “W‑day.” Wash. Water. Waste. Laundry gets sorted. Plants get a drink. Garbage goes out to the road. None of it feels glamorous. None of it feels profound. None of it looks like the kind of moment where God would whisper something holy. And yet, He does. Because the truth is, God doesn’t wait for the big moments to speak. He meets us in the ordinary ones. The repetitive ones. The ones we do without thinking. The ones that look like chores but become quiet invitations. As I fold laundry, I’m reminded that God is still folding things together in my life — things I don’t see yet, things that look wrinkled or unfinished, things He is smoothing out in His timing. As I water the plants, I’m reminded that growth doesn’t happen all at once. It happens slowly, quietly, faithfully in the same way He grows patience, peace, and strength inside me. As I roll the garbage bin to the road, I’m reminded that God is always helping me carry out what do...

About Me

🌿 Walking the Quiet Path, One Small Moment at a Time

My name is Carol, and after retiring on May 29, 2026, I stepped into a new season of life; one that is quieter, slower, and more deeply rooted in God’s everyday presence. Some parts of my routine haven’t changed at all, and others feel beautifully different.

For the last forty years, I’ve woken up at 5AM. It’s my favorite part of the day; a cup of coffee, my Bible, and the stillness of early morning. Around 7:00 or 7:30, I take Mittens, my 12‑year‑old rescue pup, outside for her ball time. Rain or shine, she insists on it twice a day, and honestly, I love that about her. After that, I make breakfast for my husband and myself, and the rest of the day depends on whether something is planned or if it’s a “wing it” kind of day.

I’ve had a lifelong relationship with God and Jesus Christ. I’ve wandered down a few noisier, more exciting paths over the years, but God has always called me back to the quiet one; the path where He speaks softly, steadily, and faithfully. Living in the country, where houses sit more than an acre apart, I don’t see many people on a daily basis. But in that quiet space, God has been nudging my heart each morning: Help others see that I am here. Help them notice Me in the small moments.

I worked for Aetna for 32 years before retiring. I’ve been married for 28 years and have two children I love dearly — my stepson, Quintin, who is 36, and my daughter, Olivia, who is 23. Our little family also includes two horses, Sunshine and Freckles; one chicken, Henny Penny, who absolutely rules the roost; and Mittens, our sweet dog. We live on ten acres in East Texas with a one‑acre garden. It is my heaven on earth, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world.

I love gardening and crafting; especially cross‑stitching, crocheting, and diamond painting. These quiet hobbies, along with the simple rhythms of country life, have taught me how often God shows up in the ordinary. Not always in big, bold ways, that’s not usually His style, but in the gentle, everyday moments that shape our lives.

My hope for My Quiet Path is simple: To help others notice God in their own daily lives. To remind them that He has not left us nor forsaken us. To offer guidance, encouragement, and peace to anyone walking a path that feels noisy, confusing, or far from Him.

This is my Quiet Path. And I’m grateful you’re here walking it with me.
