Prayers, gratitude, and the quiet ache of letting go
Sunday afternoon arrives too quickly. After a beautiful weekend together; full of laughter, shopping, shared meals, and simple joys, it’s time to say goodbye to Olivia. We stand together, the three of us, offering prayers over her as she prepares for her 1.5‑hour drive back to her apartment.
There’s always a tender ache in these moments. The house feels fuller when she’s here, and a little quieter when she leaves. But even in the goodbye, there is gratitude; a deep, steady gratitude that God allowed us such a sweet weekend together. Time with our children is never guaranteed, and every visit feels like a blessing wrapped in ordinary moments.
We hug her, speak blessings over her, and watch her drive away, trusting that God goes before her, behind her, and beside her on every mile of the road.
🌿 Gentle Reminder
Goodbyes are easier when we remember that God travels with the ones we love. His presence fills the spaces we cannot, and His care continues long after our arms let go.
🌿 Today’s Quiet Encouragement
Hold onto the joy of the weekend, not the ache of the goodbye. Let gratitude steady your heart, knowing that God is already preparing the next moment you’ll be together. Love stretches farther than distance; and God’s protection stretches even farther still.
