Fall gift baskets, football, and the joy of simple family moments
Some Saturdays feel full before they even begin, not because they’re busy, but because they’re rich with time spent together. Today was one of those days. We left the house around 9am, ready for a day of shopping, laughter, and helping Olivia gather everything she needed for her fall gift baskets she’s making for a friend get‑together at her apartment next weekend.
We wandered through Hobby Lobby, Five Below, Dollar Tree, TJ Maxx, and a handful of other stops, each one offering little treasures and seasonal surprises. Olivia held up items, asking what we thought, and we loved every moment of being included in her excitement. She was gathering things with intention, creativity, and joy, and we were simply grateful to be part of it.
By midday, we found ourselves at Bubba’s 33 in Tyler for lunch. The Texas Longhorns/Tennessee college football game was on, and the energy in the room was lively. We ate, talked, laughed, and enjoyed the simple goodness of being together. It wasn’t a fancy day, but it was a full one; full of connection, full of joy, full of gratitude.
We returned home around 3pm, tired in the best way. A day well spent. A day shared. A day to remember.
๐ฟ Gentle Reminder
The sweetest moments often come from ordinary days. The ones filled with errands, shared meals, and simple joys. God is present in these quiet rhythms, weaving love into the places we might overlook.
๐ฟ Today’s Quiet Encouragement
Look for God in the laughter, in the conversations, in the way your family gathers around small traditions and seasonal fun. He delights in your togetherness and blesses the moments that feel simple but become memories you carry for years.
